Joseph S. Townsend has been actively involved in the community of Worcester as the Development Manager and Grant Writer at WCCA TV, where he is responsible for fundraising, grants, and community outreach. He has been on the Board of Directors of the Memorial Foundation for the Blind for the last couple of years. Joseph previously served as Program Director at a Center for Independent Living at which he advocated for people with disabilities in a six-county area in East Central Indiana. He also served on the Boards of the Muncie Chapter of Indiana Black Expo, Minority Tobacco Free Coalition of Delaware County, and the Delaware County Coalition for Human Services. Joseph joined the Profiting Non-Profits Team at Ball State University as a Business Fellow in 2005, where he initiated his work in grant writing. He holds an M.A. in Executive Development for Public Service, and a B.S. in Social Studies Education and History from Ball State University. He is the proud father of two cats.
