Communications Director
Greg Liakos has served as Communications Director for the Mass Cultural Council since 2004. Part of the agency’s senior staff, he manages long-term, broad-based advocacy campaigns for the nonprofit arts, humanities, and sciences. He leads Mass Cultural Council’s communications and positioning, and serves as the agency’s liaison to the state Legislature and other government partners. Prior to Mass Cultural Council he was head of public relations for the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA, where he directed media, community, and government affairs as part of the museum's $125 million institutional transformation. He is a former reporter and editor with several Greater Boston publications, for which he received top awards in writing and investigative journalism. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Assumption College and a Master of Arts from Tufts University. He lives with his wife and two children in Wakefield, MA, where he serves as an elected member of the Wakefield School Committee.
