Thank you all for participating in the Mass Cultural Council Institute – Unleashing the Power of Culture - on March 17th. Five hundred of you came from cities and towns across the state to meet your colleagues, learn from others and understand your importance as an economic driver in your communities. Käthe Swaback is a visual artist, art therapist, and arts administrator with an M.A. in expressive therapy. Käthe joined the core team of Raw Art Works to develop RAW Space in 1994 with the mission to "ignite the desire to create and the confidence to succeed in our youth." As program director, Kathe oversees a full continuum of 50+ programs and from 2008-12, she led the Boston Youth Arts Evaluation Project. BYAEP culminated in the publication of a handbook and workbook, with BYAEP receiving statewide recognition for Excellence in Collaboration awarded by the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network. Käthe is also a member of the Creative Youth Development Steering Committee (2012) for the National Guild for Community Arts Education and also helps to lead the Youth Arts Impact Network.
